Lincoln, Neb., June 1st, 2006 —

University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute will offer a one-week concentrated study series, "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles." The course will meet daily, Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23. Participants will tour Speedway Motors, an internationally known museum of vehicles in Lincoln; a walking tour of a private collection of cars, and tour the Strategic Air and Space Museum.

The week will conclude with a "road trip" to Fremont to board the Fremont Dinner Train on June 23. The price of tickets for the train ride, including dinner, will be at additional cost.

Facilitator Dave Thomssen has a 50-year hobby of building racecars and competing in drag racing, and racing at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Class members will hear some of his racing stories and see videos of land speed races at Bonneville.
