The Nebraska Alumni Association seeks nominees for a new international award to be presented next spring. The association's board of directors voted to add the Outstanding International Alumnus Award to the organization's awards program at their fall meeting in September.

The new honor will be given annually to an alumnus who was a non-U.S. citizen during his or her attendance at UNL and who has achieved national or international prominence through efforts in education, science, technology, agriculture, the arts, business, humanities, government or other world endeavors.

The inaugural award will be presented May 4 at the All-University Celebration and Salute to Alumni Achievement. The association also presents Alumni Achievement Awards, Young Alumni Awards, the Family Tree Award and several student awards at that gathering.

Nominations are due by Dec. 1. A nomination form and a complete listing of the criteria can be found at www.huskeralum.com or by calling the Nebraska Alumni Association at (888) 353-1874 or (402) 472-2841.
