UNL Homecoming royalty finalists selected

Lincoln, Neb., November 2nd, 2006 —

Twenty senior students have been selected as Homecoming royalty finalists at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The Homecoming king and queen will be elected in a vote of the student body on Nov. 2 and crowned Nov. 4 at halftime of the Nebraska-Missouri football game in Memorial Stadium. Voting for king and queen will be conducted 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Nebraska Union, Nebraska East Union and Campus Recreation Center.

The finalists are listed below by hometown. Information includes the students' academic majors and the names of their parents.

Ainsworth: Jason Lowe, mechanical engineering, son of James and Jo Lowe.

Elkhorn: Matt Connolly, management, son of Dan and Becky Connolly.

Geneva: Ashley Hejny, food science and technology, daughter of Terence and Pamela Hejny.

Grand Island: Jenny Green, advertising, daughter of James and Kathleen; Jodi Schreurs, biological sciences, daughter of Douglas and Jeanne Schreurs.

Grant: Russell Swan, business administration, son of Marvin and Marcia Swan.

Kearney: Kristin Liebig, secondary mathematics education, daughter of Paul and Jan Liebig; Mike Stafford, finance, son of Keith and Julia Stafford.

Lincoln: Andrea Abel, secondary special education, daughter of John and Teri Dageforde and the late Danny Abel; Philip Boucher, molecular pathology, son of Philip and Janet Boucher; Laine Norton, news-editorial and history, daughter of Will and Susan Norton; Kim Shubert, biological sciences, daughter of Christian and Ruth Shubert.

Norfolk: David Solheim, environmental studies and international studies, son of Roger and Jane Solheim.

Omaha: Craig Johnson, biological sciences and psychology, son of Martin and Connie Johnson; John Wood, political science, son of Walter Wood and Alice Smart.

Ord: Jackie Cecetka, mathematics and biology, daughter of Richard and Claudia Cecetka.

Seward: Jason Villalobos, construction management, son of Michael and Louise Villalobos.

Sioux Falls, S.D.: Kristin McCann, English, daughter of Ron and Conni McCann.

South Sioux City: Amanda Wiltgen, secondary special education, daughter of Edward and Mary Wiltgen.

Tekamah: Adam Goll, business administration, son of Charles and Nora Goll.
