Reed-Boniface, Norton earn Cather Circle honors

Juanita Reed-Boniface, '59, of Oak Grove, Minn., and Laine Norton, University of Nebraska-Lincoln senior from Lincoln, are the recipients of the Cather Circle Alumna of the Year and Collegian of the Year awards. The awards were announced at the spring meeting of Cather Circle, March 29-30 at the Wick Alumni Center, and will be presented at the Nebraska Alumni Association's All-University Celebration and Salute to Alumni Achievement, May 4 at the Nebraska Champions Club.
Reed-Boniface is president and education consultant for JRB Associates Inc. and a partner in Boeckenhauer Cattle, a family-owned Nebraska livestock business. A former University of Minnesota Extension educator in 4-H youth development, she is well known for her workshops at professional organizations throughout the nation. Reed-Boniface has served as vice mayor and member of the Oak Grove City Council; president of the Minnesota CattleWomen (who named her their Woman of the Year in 1998); and education chair for the American National CattleWomen. She joined Cather Circle in 2000 and has given many hours to the organization as a member of the executive and programming committees.
Norton is a senior news-editorial journalism and history major. She has been a member of Cather Circle since 2004 and is a member of its executive committee. In addition to Cather Circle, Norton was the 2006-2007 internal vice president and is 2007-2008 external vice president of ASUN student government, the 2006 homecoming queen and a member of the Student Alumni Association Board of Directors. A member of Chi Omega sorority, she also has served as a junior Panhellenic delegate, a member of the Arts and Sciences Student Advisory Board and chairman of PALS at the Nebraska Human Resources Institute.

Nebraska Alumni Association programs are developed in support of UNL and funded by member dues and corporate partnerships. The Nebraska Alumni Association is an independent organization that receives no state or tuition dollars.
