Lincoln, Neb., August 10th, 2007 —

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute will host an open house Aug. 22 at 5:30 p.m. to kick off its new season. The location is the Nebraska Champions Club, 707 Stadium Drive (across the street from Memorial Stadium).

Now in its fourth year, OLLI offers non-credit courses and special events year-round. Presentations are aimed at lifelong learners age 50 and above, but all ages are welcome.

Course titles for the six-week session beginning Sept. 10 include "History of Ethnic Diversity in Nebraska," "Art of the Great Plains," "The Role of Architecture in 18th- and 19th-Century Historical Fiction (Literature, Theatre, and Art)," "China Rising," "Write for FUN," "All's Well That Ends Well," "Se Habla Espanol Aqui," "Everybody Has a Story," "Art of the Louvre," "World War II," "Improving My Internet Skills (to make it do what I want done)," "Art of Piano: Chopin's Love Affair with the Melody" and "Retirement Planning 101."
