"Plains Song Review," a contemporary literary and arts journal published by the Center for Great Plains Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, issued its annual call for submissions. Submissions are encouraged from undergraduate college students, graduate students and members of the community.

Now in its 10th year, the journal publishes poetry, essays, fiction, photographs and black and white art. Past issues have included exclusive interviews with Nebraska writers, including Ted Kooser, Gerald Shapiro, Don Welch, Jonis Agee, William Kloefkorn and Kelly Madigan Erlandson.

This year's editor is Katie Sisneros of Gothenburg, a senior English literature major at UNL. "I'm excited for this opportunity and look forward to seeing new work by emerging writers and artists as well as past contributors," Sisneros said. An advisory board of UNL students will assist Sisneros in reviewing and accepting the submissions.

Consulting editor Charles Braithwaite, editor of Great Plains Quarterly, said, "We are very proud of this quality journal, which features cutting-edge poetry, prose, and images and is produced by a group of talented students at UNL."

For more information, see the Great Plains Studies Web site (www.unl.edu/plains) or contact Sisneros at (402) 472-3082 or plainssongreview@gmail.com. Contributors should send a printed copy of their work with a file in Microsoft Word or RTF. Photographs and other illustrations should be sent with a printed copy and a 300 dpi TIFF image. E-mail submissions will be accepted. All submissions must include a cover letter and short biographical note, plus complete address and contact information.
