UNL Homecoming royalty finalists selected

Lincoln, Neb., October 5th, 2007 —

Twenty senior students have been selected as Homecoming royalty finalists at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The Homecoming king and queen will be elected in a vote of the student body Oct. 11 and crowned Oct. 13 at halftime of the Nebraska-Oklahoma State football game in Memorial Stadium. Voting for king and queen will be conducted 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Nebraska Union, Nebraska East Union and Campus Recreation Center.

The finalists are listed below by hometown. Information includes the students' academic majors and the names of their parents.

NEBRASKA

Cedar Rapids: Joshua VanDeWalle, animal science, and agricultural leadership, education and communication, son of Mark and Cam VanDeWalle.

Geneva: Kelly Norrie, marketing, daughter of Rodney Norrie and Sharon Lovegrove.

Grand Island: Michael Kistler, accounting, son of Ben and Gail Kistler.

Hooper: Philip Mueller, agricultural economics, son of Larry and Leigh Mueller.

Kimball: Jay Fennell, business administration, son of Joe and Deb Fennell.

Laurel: Kristen Koch, political science, daughter of Mark and Susan Koch.

Lincoln: Corey Clifford, business administration and pre-medicine, son of Chuck and Connie Clifford; Rebecca Hergert, psychology/pre-law, daughter of John and Maureen Hergert; Joseph Manglitz, music education, son of Paul and Patti Manglitz; Stacie Sibbel, marketing, daughter of Mick and Sue Sibbel; Stephanie Walz, mathematics, daughter of Bob and Sandy Walz.

North Platte: Brigid O'Holleran, nutrition science, daughter of Timothy and Molly O'Holleran.

Omaha: Robert Learch, Spanish, son of Bob Learch and Sue and Fred Rand.

Sutton: Lauren Gemar, food science and technology, daughter of Teri Gemar and the late Scott Gemar.

Wahoo: Scott Hackman, psychology, son of Edward and Judith Hackman.

Waverly: Claire Althouse, political science and economics, daughter of Steve and Tamara Althouse.
