Entrepreneur contest provides scholarship opportunities

The Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has announced the beginning of the 2008 Allen Dayton Young Entrepreneur Contest.

The finalists in this contest can win UNL scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000. The finalists and their families will be invited as guests to the annual New Ventures World Competition at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Lincoln, April 10-12. In addition, finalists will be recognized during the annual "Celebrate Entrepreneurship" Awards Dinner April 10.

Open to all UNL-bound high school seniors in Nebraska, this contest seeks to recognize students with outstanding potential to become entrepreneurs, who one day hope to own their own businesses.

Faculty and staff at all Nebraska secondary schools were informed of the contest and invited to nominate students. Nominations are due Oct. 26. Application information will be sent directly to all nominees and completed applications are due Dec. 14.
