In observance of International Education Week, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, in cooperation with the office of International Affairs, will promote international education through a series of events Nov. 12-16.
International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. departments of State and Education designed to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in the United States. Nov. 12: 7 p.m., E. N. Thompson Forum on World Issues, "Changing Nature in an Unequal World," at the Lied Center for Performing Arts, 301 N. 12th St. Speaker is Sunita Narain, director of the Centre for Science and the Environment in Delhi, India.
Nov. 13: 4-5 p.m., Career Services workshop, "Going Global: Finding jobs in the U.S. and Abroad," Nebraska Union. 5:30 p.m., "World on Wednesdays" discussion on Thompson Forum lecture, Selleck Presidential dining area.
Nov. 14: 11 a.m.-2 p.m., International Food Bazaar, Nebraska Union. 4-5 p.m., Career Services workshop, "Going Global: Finding jobs in the U.S. and Abroad," Nebraska East Union.
Nov. 15: 4 p.m., Edythe Wiebers International Studies Scholarship presentation, Nebraska Union. 7-8:30 p.m., Peace Corps general information meeting, Nebraska Union.
