Dawn Braithwaite is 2nd VP of National Communication Association

Dawn O. Braithwaite of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has been elected second vice president of the National Communication Association.

Braithwaite is a Willa Cather professor and professor of communication studies UNL. She also is the graduate committee chair for the Communication Studies Department.

Braithwaite's term as an officer will begin in 2008. She will be the primary planner for the association's national convention in Chicago in 2009. In 2010, she will become president and will be the first NCA president in the history of the Communication Studies Department at UNL.

Founded in 1914 and based in Washington, D.C., the National Communication Association is the oldest and largest association of communication researchers and teachers, with more than 7,700 members.
