The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's MBA agribusiness specialization received a Merit Award at the Region II National Agri-Marketing Association competition last month in Kansas City, Mo.

The program, offered through the College of Business Administration, the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and the Office of Extended Education and Outreach was honored for its campaign, "Agribusiness Anywhere." The award automatically advances UNL to the national Best of NAMA competition April 16 in Kansas City.

The "Agribusiness Anywhere" campaign was designed to promote the MBA Agribusiness Specialization among agribusiness professionals who may be interested in the new distance-learning option. The campaign consisted of a postcard mailing to alumni of the UNL agribusiness program, select undergraduate majors within the College of Agriculture Sciences and Natural Resources, and posters sent to out-of-state campuses and agribusinesses. The postcards and posters direct individuals to visit the Web site www.mbaa.unl.edu/flash2 to request a free flash drive containing original video and print materials about UNL's MBA agribusiness specialization.

NAMA's annual award ceremonies recognize and reward members based on excellence in marketing agricultural products. This year, UNL was the only institution of higher learning to receive an award in Region II. The association serves the food and fiber industry, focusing on members' professional development by providing access to solutions and opportunities in agribusiness. Region II of NAMA has the largest professional membership and includes Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.
