UNL College of Business Administration honors student scholars

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration honored its top students from the 2007-08 academic year in an awards ceremony April 6 at the Nebraska Union.

The Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Key is granted to the students graduating in May with the highest grade-point averages in the college. Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities, to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice. The Alpha Delta chapter at UNL was formed in May 1924 and has had more than 2,000 members since its inception.

James E. LeRossignol Certificates were presented to the top 88 seniors. The certificates are named in honor of the first dean of the college. He served from 1913 to 1941 and his 28 years of leadership established the reputation and academic quality of the college.

Clifford M. Hicks Honor Keys were awarded to 11 juniors who achieved high academic standing in their first two years at UNL. The award is named for Professor Clifford M. Hicks, who served on the college's faculty for 43 years, and chaired of the Department of Business Organization and Management from 1950 until his retirement in 1968.

William Gold Scholarship Keys were first awarded in 1925 by William Gold, founder of Gold and Co. These keys have been awarded for 79 years to students having the highest academic standing in their freshman year. Seven Gold Scholarship Keys were awarded this year.
