Students in the J.D. Edwards Honors Program in Computer Science and Management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will present their capstone projects April 25 during their annual Design Studio project celebration.

The projects will be on display in the Kauffman Center, north of the Nebraska Union from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Beginning at 2:30, David Keck, executive director of the program, will lead the presentation of the projects to the project partners. Partners this year include UNL, Duncan Aviation, Allied Strategy, Continuum Worldwide, Software Technology, Assurity Life Insurance Co., Information Technology, Microsoft, Pen-Link Ltd., and IBM. The public is welcome to attend.

In Design Studio, student teams in the program partner with businesses and government agencies to design and develop software-based solutions that meet their clients' needs. Projects include identifying, developing and deploying solutions for personalized insurance search, Web calculators and a Web portal, content management integration, proactive service management, vendor approval workflow, expense management and order processing systems.

Through their Design Studio experience, students gain project management, teamwork and leadership skills essential in today's professional world. They also form networking relationships with top local and national companies while earning course credit for completing high-end software development projects. Businesses and industries involved seek the Design Studio teams to find them solutions to their technical challenges.
