Anne Cech to receive Alumni Distinguished Service award

A longtime Lincoln volunteer and 1952 University of Nebraska graduate will be honored with the Nebraska Alumni Association's Distinguished Service Award May 9 during the All-University Celebration and Salute to Alumni Achievement at the Nebraska Champions Club.
Anne Cech has devoted more than 40 years of volunteer service to strengthening the greek community on the UNL campus. Her commitment includes spending many hours sorting and compiling invitations, serving on a recruitment team, and sharing her expertise with other advisers.
Cech also has held leadership positions in the Husker Relay Club and the Husker Track and Field Officials Club and has been elected to the Hall of Fame in both organizations. Her involvement with track has included preparing mailings, charting and coordinating track official assignments, coordinating the awards program, working registration tables, and taking minutes.
She also served on the Arts and Sciences Alumni Board from 2000 to 2003 and has been an active member of the Nebraska Alumni Association's Cather Circle since 2003.
