Two officials with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Office of Campus Recreation have been elected to offices with the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association.

Vicki Highstreet, senior assistant director of the Campus Recreation Center, was elected president of the association, and Stan Campbell, director of the center, was elected past presidents' representative on the association's 12-member board of directors.

Highstreet was affirmed to the position at the association's 2008 annual conference and exposition in Austin, Texas, after being elected president-elect in 2007. She will preside over the association's 12-member board of directors and will assist in governing the national association. She will be leading a financially sound and growing organization that administers a $2.7 million annual operating budget and has a wholly-owned, for-profit subsidiary, the NIRSA Services Corp. Highstreet will also serve on the board of directors of the nonprofit NIRSA Foundation, an organization dedicated to educational and scholarly activities that help to advance the recreational sports profession.

"Vicki is a truly valued member of our association," said Kent J. Blumenthal, director of the association. "Her many years of experience, and her multitude of contributions to not only our association, but also the collegiate recreational sports and fitness field, make her an outstanding leader."

The National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association is the leading resource for professional and student development, education, and research in collegiate recreational sports. Headquartered in Corvallis, Ore., the association was established in 1950. The association now includes nearly 4,000 highly trained professional, student and associate members throughout the United States, Canada and other countries, serving an estimated 5.5 million students who regularly participate in campus recreational sports programs.
