Grand Island's Kistler elected Phi Beta Lambda national president

Recent University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate Mike Kistler of Grand Island was elected the 2008-09 national president of Phi Beta Lambda, the world's largest business career student organization, at the group's national conference last month in Atlanta.
Kistler graduated from what is now the Raikes School of Computer Science at Management with highest distinction in May. He working on his master of business administration degree at UNL.
Over the past nine years, Kistler has been active in Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, serving in many local, state, regional and national officer positions, connecting businesses to the organization's members and working to make it a larger and stronger organization.
Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is a nonprofit education association with a quarter million students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. Headquartered in Reston, Va., it has three divisions for students from middle school through college and a professional division.
Also at the national conference, the UNL Phi Beta Lambda chapter received top honors, including recognition as an outstanding chapter. A list by hometown follows of individual UNL students who won high honors.

Dannebrog: Tyler Lemburg, second in Database Design and Applications, second in Financial Services.
Grand Island: Mike Kistler, national president, second in Accounting for Professionals, Who's Who in PBL recognition, Career and Membership Achievement Program recognition.
Lincoln: Adam West, eighth in Database Design and Applications; Miles Krumbach, fifth in Macroeconomics; Matt Lam, sixth in Sports Management and Marketing.
York: Charles Burns, third in Macroeconomics, sixth in Financial Concepts.
