Fall Management Development seminars at UNL focus on leadership skills

To succeed in a rapidly changing business environment, managers and supervisors need to continuously update and enhance their knowledge and skills. Management Development Certificate Program seminars from the Department of Management in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration offer training in a variety of areas critical to business today. New sessions begin Sept. 24 and continue through December.
In these interactive seminars, instructors bring cutting-edge theory to life and provide practical applications participants can put to work immediately. Topics for fall seminars include Creative Solutions in Management, Assertive Skills Training, Creating and Managing Teams, Effective Planning, and Role of the Supervisor in Performance Improvement, Legal Issues for Business, Employment Law, Diversity, Managing Conflict and Communication in Difficult Situations, among others. Presenters include UNL faculty Gwendolyn Combs (College of Business) and Dawn Braithwaite (Department of Communications Studies), Todd Blome, CPA and partner with BMG Certified Public Accountants, LLP in Lincoln; Mark Fahleson , partner with Rembolt, Ludtke and Berger LLP in Lincoln, and Aaron Davis, president of Aaron Davis Presentations.
Seminars are held in Lincoln at the Ferguson Center, 700 S. 16th St.; Omaha at Gallup University, 1001 Gallup Drive; and at Mahoney State Park, off Interstate 80 Exit 426.
Any of these seminars can count toward completion of a UNL Business Seminars Management Development Certificate. Information on the three levels of certificates offered is available by telephone and on the Web site (www.mds.unl.edu). Participation in the certificate program is not a requirement to attend the seminars. There is a fee to register for the seminars.
