Sheldon Museum of Art on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus welcomes all students and faculty to College Nights this semester. Sheldon will be open at no charge on these evenings especially for individual students, student organizations, class groups and instructors.
This is the third year Sheldon has offered a night schedule specifically for college students. Last winter scores of students enjoyed refreshments, camaraderie and art tours led by other students. Classes and students from all universities and colleges in the region are welcome.
Sheldon's permanent collection and special exhibitions will be available for guided tours or informal visits. Snacks and beverages will be offered. Hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Guided class or group tours must be scheduled two weeks in advance by calling (402) 472-4524. No appointment is necessary for instructor-led tours.
The fall College Night schedule and the exhibitions that will be on view on those dates are:
* Monday, Sept. 29: "Subject(s) to Change: American Art from the Permanent Collection," "The Purpose of Labor: New Works by Gail Kendall," "Agency of Time: An Installation by Leighton Pierce," and "Elizabeth King: The Sizes of Things in the Mind's Eye."
