WHEN: Monday, May. 4, 2009, through May. 8, 2009
Finals Week at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is May 4-8. During this time, the university will have approximately 5,000 residence hall occupants, parents and extra vehicles moving students out of the residence halls. Much of that movement will be concentrated in May 7-8, based on exam schedules.
Motorists should watch for barricades, closed traffic lanes and parking personnel providing traffic control around the residence halls, including 14th Street west of the Harper/Schramm/Smith/Village complex and 16th and 17th streets between R and Vine streets.
Plan for extra travel time as these areas will be extremely congested. If possible, consider alternate parking or travel routes to avoid the areas adjacent to the City Campus residence halls.
To travel to the Bob Devaney Sports Center for commencement exercises May 8 and 9, use the 14th Street or 27th Street entrances coming from the north to avoid traffic in the center of campus.
