Nebraska Summer Writer's Conference features workshops, readings

Lincoln, Neb., May 21st, 2009 —

The Nebraska Summer Writers' Conference at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be June 13-19 at UNL. The conference offers weekend and week-long workshops in fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction writing, and publishing.

Registration is open to the public. Fees, faculty information and other details are available on the conference Web site, http://nebraskawriters.unl.edu.

While workshops require registration, panel discussions and readings are free and open to the public, and are scheduled throughout the week. Topics include publishing work, researching historical novels, writing about family, and literature and the visual arts. Visit the Web site for a full schedule of events. * Sean Doolittle -- Award-winning crime novelist.
* David Ebershoff -- Author of "The 19th Wife" and editor at Random House.
* Anthony Hawley -- Author of "Forget Reading" and "The Concerto Form."
* Aaron Raz Link -- Author of the award-winning memoir "What Becomes You."
* Glenna Luschei -- Poet and editor, author of "Libido Dreams" and "Total Immersion."
* Hilda Raz -- Poet and editor, author of "All Odd and Splendid."
* Jewell Parker Rhodes -- Best-selling author of "Voodoo Dreams" and "Douglass' Women."
* Curtis Sittenfeld -- Best-selling author of "Prep" and "American Wife."
