The Sheldon Museum of Art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln announces new hours and programming on Tuesday evenings. Beginning in June, the Sheldon will be open Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. The Museum is closed on Mondays. Sheldon will continue its First Friday Receptions from 5 to 7 p.m. each month.
Tuesday evening programming will begin with the Jazz in June concert series. A partnership formed between the Sheldon Museum of Art and the UNL School of Music will offer faculty and students jazz concerts, performances by the Chiara String Quartet, and student dancers. In addition, the Sheldon will present lectures by visiting artists, critics and scholars. These additional programs will present the multidisciplinary relationship between the performing and visual arts.
A detailed schedule of events is available at www.sheldon.unl.edu. Members of the Sheldon Art Association receive The Sheldon newsletter and postcard announcements by mail. Visitors may follow Sheldon events on Twitter, Facebook or receive important announcements and updates by e-mail.
