UNL management business seminar on strategic relationships Oct. 13

Establishing strategic relationships is an important skill and essential in uncertain economic times. Workers can to exploit the strategic opportunities within their personal and social networks in the seminar "Partner or Perish: How and why strategic alliances are critical to your company's revitalization" Oct. 13 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Presented by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Management Business Seminars Program, the seminar will be held at Gallup University, 1001 Gallup Drive, Omaha.

The interactive seminar led by Lynn Hinderaker will introduce participants to strategies to broaden their reach and influence while conserving resources, modifying their brand image and accelerating their innovation curve. Hinderaker is a transition marketing specialist who orchestrated the most dramatic turnaround in the history of fast food. He is also the host of NxBizSuccess, an entrepreneurial training program. He operates his 17-year-old firm, Omegapoint, through alliances with freelancers all over the country. He is a passionate speaker who is now writing his first book, "Dance with the Customer."

The seminar will emphasize the value of strategic alliances, explain how to identify high-potential market segments that can be served with a strategic alliance, how to think imaginatively about finding a partner, and explain the range of partnerships from informal to formal.
