'Black Holes' fulldome shows at Mueller Planetarium in January

Beginning Jan. 14, Mueller Planetarium at the University of Nebraska State Museum will feature "Black Holes" as its fulldome program on Thursday nights at 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 and 3 p.m.

This schedule will be in effect through Feb. 4. A new schedule will start Feb. 6 and be announced at a later date. For updates on the planetarium's fulldome schedule and other planetarium information, visit www.spacelaser.com.

"Black Holes" gives audiences a glimpse of a phenomenon that is still bathed in mystery. This immersive, 40-minute show, narrated by Star Trek's John de Lancie, explores how black holes are detected and the latest scientific theories on how these mysterious objects are formed.

Mueller Planetarium is located in the University of Nebraska State Museum in Morrill Hall, south of 14th and Vine streets. The museum is open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursdays, and 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $5 for adults (19 and over), $3 for children (5-18 years, 4 and under are free), and $10 for families (up to two adults and children). Planetarium tickets are sold at the museum's front gate the day of the show. Tickets for all planetarium shows are in addition to the admission fees for the Museum and are $3 for Adults, $2.50 for students through age 18 and $3 for UNL faculty, staff and students.
