Lincoln, Neb., February 12th, 2010 —

To celebrate its 15th year of supporting the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, MEDICI is going green.

The annual fund raiser at the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery on the UNL city campus will be Saturday, March 6, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. This year's artists are: Deon Bahr, Roger Bruhn, Michael Burton, Jan Christensen, Neil Christensen, Susan Dewsnap, Janet Eskridge, Michael Farrell, Judy Greff, Hal Holoun, Keith Jacobshagen, Karen Kunc, Deborah Murphy, Merrill Peterson, Julie Phillips, Susan Puelz, Gary Rattigan, Larry Roots, Doug Ross, Joe Ruffo, Francisco Souto, Carol Thompson, Michele Tilley, Edwin Carter Weiss and Sandra Williams.

The evening offers fine art and great company and homemade sweet and savory hors d'oeuvres, coffee from the Mill, complimentary wine and a party favor. Participants buy chances to select or win art by the featured artists, and proceeds benefit the Department of Art and Art History and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Since its inception in 1995, MEDICI (Most Esteemed Donors, Intellects, Colleagues and Individuals) -- a friends group -- has raised more than $100,000 for the department. Donated funds have been used to bring visiting scholars to the campus and to purchase kilns, presses, papermaking equipment, catalogs and other amenities that contribute to the first-rate art educational offerings for UNL students.
