The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Larsen Tractor Museum will launch a month-long 90th anniversary celebration March 31, with visitors to the museum during April receiving a commemorative photo of the tractor tested in the first performance test.

On March 31, 1920, the first successful Nebraska Tractor Test began on the Waterloo Boy Model N tractor. The pioneer Nebraska Tractor Tests became worldwide standards. For the past 90 years, tractor testing and performance data has contributed to more successful uses of tractors in agriculture.

Visitors to the museum throughout April will receive a commemorative photo of the Waterloo Boy performing Nebraska Tractor Test No. 1. The celebration will culminate May 1 with the 12th annual Larsen Tractor Museum Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature tractor parades around the tractor test track, tours of the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory and Larsen Tractor Museum. A presentation from John Deere will be provided.

The tractor test museum, named for Lester F. Larsen, was established in 1980 to showcase technological advancements in agricultural technology and is housed in the original Nebraska Tractor Test facility, near 35th and Fair streets on UNL's East Campus [map].
