Lincoln, Neb., April 9th, 2010 —

"Radio Happy Hour," a live variety show featuring an old-time radio comedy/drama and everyone's favorite guest stars from the worlds of film, music and letters, will be presented 8 p.m. April 22 at the Rococo Theatre, 128 N. 13th St. [map].

The program is sponsored by the University Program Council at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

With special guests Eugene Mirman and Matt Pond PA, the show engages its guests in a wildly right-angled conversation that careens between interviews, performances and trivia. At the center of it all is a short, old-time radio comedy in which the guest stars as him- or herself or, in some cases, as Nancy Drew. Audiences will see all of this -- the interviews, the corny jokes, the guest performances and the behind-the-scenes making of a radio drama.

Tickets for the event are $5 for UNL students with their N-Card ID and $25 for the public. Buy tickets online at www.rococotheatre.com.

Since college, Eugene Mirman has appeared on television, on his own half-hour special on Comedy Central, appearances on Conan O'Brien, a recurring role on HBO's "Flight of the Conchords," MTV, "Aqua Teen Hunger Force," "Home Movies," "Lucy," "Daughter of the Devil" and the Adult Swim live action series, "Delocated." He was named the Best New York Comedian for 2009 by the Village Voice and one of the 10 best comedians of the last decade by Paste Magazine. He was also one of 2009's "Hot" Twitter-ers according to Rolling Stone Magazine.

Matt Pond PA is an indie band formed in Philadelphia in 1998 by singer/songwriter Matt Pond. Matt Pond PA has performed with Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Nickel Creek, Youth Group, Mae, Keane, Guster, Dios Malos, Neko Case, Straylight Run and Liz Phair. The band's music has been included in the soundtrack for the Fox television program "The O.C.," specifically cover versions of Oasis' "Champagne Supernova" and Neutral Milk Hotel's "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea."

The University Program Council is a volunteer student organization designed to address the co-curricular, social, recreational, cultural, and educational needs of the campus.
