The Nebraska Council on Economic Education has received grants totaling more than $50,000 through the competitive Excellence in Economic Education grant program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education and administered by the national Council for Economic Education.
Roger Butters, president of the Nebraska Council, said the grants will fund curriculum distribution to Nebraska teachers, a four-day residential teacher program in the spring and extensive research activity.
These grants are made possible by the support the council receives from individuals, businesses and foundations throughout Nebraska. Their generosity makes it possible for the council to be competitive at the national level and to deliver world-class educational opportunities to Nebraska's teachers and students.
