Sheldon celebrates Valentine's Day with 'Art & Bubbly' Feb. 12

Lincoln, Neb., February 10th, 2011 —

Celebrate Valentine's Day weekend with a champagne tasting, sweet treats, live music, candlelight and bubbling conversation at Sheldon's second annual "Art & Bubbly."

The Feb. 12 event has been expanded this year to accommodate even more guests. It begins at 6 p.m. and will include champagne tasting of selections from around the world and domestic sparkling wines.

The Primavera Duo, featuring Anne Sheedy on flute and Joyce Besch on bassoon, will fill the Sheldon's Great Hall with romantic music.

Sheldon Museum of Art, 12th and R streets on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln City Campus, houses a permanent collection of more than 12,000 objects, primarily focusing on American art. It is open free to the public during regular hours: Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.; closed Monday.
