Nebraska Alumni Association plans UNL Spring Homecoming April 15-16

The Nebraska Alumni Association invites alumni and friends to participate in Big Red Weekend, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's annual spring homecoming April 15-16. A variety of events, including guided campus tours, lectures, performances, the Red-White spring football game at 1 p.m. April 16, and other athletic contests are planned across campus for the celebration.
In addition, eight groups are planning reunions and special alumni events, including the Alumni of Color, College of Engineering, Department of Chemistry 125th anniversary, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts, Scarlet Guard/Student Alumni Association and UNL Honors Program 25th anniversary.
A sample of this year's Big Red Weekend events (Friday, April 15):
* Dining Hall Lunch, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. -- The Selleck, Harper and Abel dining halls have undergone renovations in recent years. The community is invited to sample the food offerings and see why dining halls play a key role in students' decisions to enroll at UNL.
* Husker Athletic Tours, 1:30 p.m. -- Includes Tom and Nancy Osborne Athletic Complex, the Hawks Championship Center and Memorial Stadium. (Space is limited, register early.)
* Touch UNL's Past, 3-4 p.m. -- Some of UNL's most treasured historical documents and rare books will be on display at this hands-on event at Love Library.
* Campus Walking Tour, 4:15-5:15 p.m. -- Current students will serve as campus tour guides.
* Football Friday Spring Game Edition, 4:15-7 p.m. -- Includes a spring game preview by local media personalities and former players, special guest appearances by Nebraska assistant offensive line/tight ends coach John Garrison and volleyball coach John Cook, and Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom Encounter, all at the Wick Alumni Center's Holling Garden, 1520 R St.
