Celebration to mark 125 years of chemistry education at UNL

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Chemistry is welcoming alumni back to campus to help mark an important milestone.
The department will celebrate 125 years of chemistry education at its 2011 Chemistry Reunion, set for April 15-16. The department awarded its first bachelor's degree in chemistry in 1886 to George Bell Frankforter, who went on to earn the department's first master's degree in 1888.
Tours of Hamilton Hall, an alumni banquet dinner, a department tailgate before the Red-White spring football game April 16, and other activities are planned in conjunction with the Alumni Association's 2011 "Big Red Weekend."
