WHEN: Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, through Aug. 19, 2011
WHERE: UNL City Campus
Back-to-campus time at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will again see thousands of students moving in to their residence halls in the span of a few days prior to the start of fall semester classes on Aug. 22.
Most students will be moving in to their residence halls Aug. 18-19 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Students residing in The Village and The Courtyards begin move-in on Aug. 16.
Visitors and Lincoln residents should be aware of minor traffic delays in the City Campus vicinity because of lane-closings and some congestion from move-in traffic, in addition to changing traffic patterns from the ongoing Salt Creek Roadway construction. A new traffic roundabout at 10th Street and Salt Creek Roadway (near Stadium Drive) opens Aug. 13.
Motorists traveling through campus will find closed driving lanes on 16th, 17th and Vine streets. Students and parents should plan for delays because parking near many residence halls is limited. Students and parents have been advised to use drop-off, move-in parking for one hour only near their assigned residence halls, and to visit the UNL Housing move-in Web site, http://housing.unl.edu/movein, for the latest information on assigned parking for each residence hall. The special move-in zones are limited to one-hour parking; after that, vehicles are required to move to other parking locations.
