Mueller Planetarium adds fulldome shows over holiday break

Lincoln, Neb., December 20th, 2011 —

         Over the holidays, Mueller Planetarium in the University of Nebraska State Museum's Morrill Hall will add week-day afternoon shows to its current fulldome schedule.

            Additional showings of "Dawn of the Space Age," with a special tribute to the Space Shuttle program, will be presented at 2 p.m. Dec. 27, 28 and 29.

            Holiday break schedule with additional shows Dec. 27-29:

  • "Dawn of the Space Age" with tribute to Space Shuttle Program -- Tuesday and Wednesday at 2 p.m., Thursday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

            Regular schedule Dec. 31-Jan. 29 (except Jan. 1):

  • "Light Years from Andromeda" -- Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.
  • "Dawn of the Space Age" -- Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m; Thursdays at 7 p.m.

            Mueller Planetarium and Morrill Hall will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1. The fulldome schedule will be updated again beginning Feb. 4. For the current schedule and previews, visit the planetarium's website, www.spacelaser.com.

            The University of Nebraska State Museum in Morrill Hall is open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursdays, and 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $5 for adults (19 and over), $3 for children (5-18 years, 4 and under are free), and $10 for families (up to two adults and children). UNL staff, faculty and students are admitted free with valid NU ID. There is an additional charge for planetarium shows. Parking is free.
