Jacht Club welcomes new clients, students in 2012

Lincoln, Neb., February 9th, 2012 —

            The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's student advertising agency, Jacht Club, started off the 2012 spring semester by welcoming new members, beginning work for new clients and setting new goals for the second half of the year.

            Jacht Club began in fall 2010 as UNL's first student advertising agency. Jacht Club's new client list includes Nebraska Shrine Bowl, Iguana's, the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools, Central Lumber Sales and the UNL Textile, Clothing and Design Spring Runway Show. Continuing clients of Jacht Club include Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management, Nelnet, Speedway, Vestn and the Nebraska Dairy Association.

            Jacht Club also welcomed new members to the team this semester: Jordan Faulder, Lincoln (advertising and public relations major); Andrea Evers, Germantown, Wis. (advertising and public relations); Jackson Morris, Omaha (advertising) and Will Latta, Calgary, Alberta (news-editorial). Jacht Club's 23 students work on account planning, design and videography within a variety of account teams, and are guided by professors Amy Struthers and Chuck Piper.

            Jacht Club is expanding its reach in the digital space through social media community management, using familiarity with the youth demographic and with new technology to guide clients through the digital frontier.

            Jacht Club's passion for experimentation with social media, digital production, mobile media and other emerging technologies generates its unique student "ad lab" experience that yields professional, engaging strategies. Jacht Club allows students to learn in an experimental environment where there is opportunity to explore, analyze and test fresh ideas within the constantly evolving advertising industry.
