Chancellor hosts teacher recognition at Road Show tailgate

            Teachers from the Omaha area who have had the most positive impact on University of Nebraska-Lincoln students will be honored at a "tailgate" reception on March 4 at the Hilton Omaha, 1001 Cass St., just prior to the Big Red Road Show.

            Three teachers: Sarah Schau of Omaha Westside, Tom Baker from Omaha Marian and Tyler Berzina from Millard West, will earn top recognition at the event.

            The Big Red Road Show Recognition Tailgate from noon to 1:30 p.m. on March 4 will honor nearly 200 educators and administrators in the Omaha area named by current UNL students as having the greatest degree of influence on them. Schau, Baker and Berzina were mentioned by their students the most often. Schau teaches marketing, Baker teaches sociology and Berzina teaches physics.

            The tailgate preceeds the 10th annual Big Red Road Show, from 1-3:30 p.m. at CenturyLink Center in Omaha. The free, public event is a UNL open house "on the road" in Omaha. The Road Show will spotlight more than 75 interactive exhibits with displays of star-studded alumni and will honor UNL's past through research, academics, and athletics, while sharing opportunities for student discovery, academic excellence and student life at the state’s only Big Ten Conference university.
