'Mooz-lum' screening, discussion with filmmaker Basir is Sept. 12

Lincoln, Neb., September 6th, 2012 —

            "Mooz-lum," a groundbreaking film examing life as a Muslim in a  post 9/11 world, will be screened at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on Sept. 12.

            The screening will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center, 313 N. 13th St., and will include a discussion with director Qasim “Q” Basir. The evening is presented by the University Program Council at UNL. It is free for UNL students with a valid NCard, $5 for faculty, staff and the public.

            "Mooz-lum," starring Danny Glover, Nia Long, Evan Ross, Roger Guenveur Smith, Summer Bishil and Dorian Missick, is the coming-of-age tale of a young Muslim man going to college in September 2001.
