Allen's extraordinary talent has taken her across the globe. She has toured Morocco, Brazil and China where she was the only jazz artist to headline at the Beijing Music Festival. She performs frequently in Europe, and was featured at Chatelet Hall and at the Paris 2008 Bass Festival. Nationally she has toured both coasts and in between appearing numerous times in Los Angeles and in New York City at the Blue Note and The Josef Papp Public Theater.

Since relocating to Lincoln with bassist and husband Hans Sturm, who joined the UNL School of Music faculty, Allen's regular classes for aspiring torch singers have become popular opportunities for local vocalists.

The Jackie Allen Jazz Quintet is also part of the Lied Center's Arts Across Nebraska 2012-13 program. The group will tour Oct. 28-29 in Nebraska City and Nov. 1 in McCook. The Arts Across Nebraska program connects Lied Center artists to Nebraska communities throughout the state.
