12 UNL students inducted into Phi Beta Kappa

Lincoln, Neb., December 13th, 2012 —

            Twelve University of Nebraska-Lincoln students were initiated into membership in Phi Beta Kappa this month.

            Phi Beta Kappa is the nation's oldest academic honor society, recognizing and encouraging a commitment to excellence in the liberal arts and sciences. Following is a list of the students who were inducted, including their academic major(s) and their parents' names. All are in the Dec. 15 graduating class, unless otherwise noted.

NEBRASKA

            Albion: Jennifer Simons, senior, environmental studies and sociology, Dick Simons of Omaha and Trina Hellbusch of Albion.

            Elkhorn: Amanda Rosenthal, senior, history, political science and global studies, Randy Rosenthal of Elkhorn and Mary Rosenthal of Omaha.

            Lincoln: Jaydon McDonald, senior, psychology and Spanish, Randy and Diane McDonald; Alex Redfern-Cook, Aug. 11 graduate, psychology, Carey Cook and the late Nikki Redfern.

            Omaha: Brittney Albin, senior, environmental studies and anthropology, Bill and Chris Albin.

            Tilden: Tiffany Napier, Aug. 11 graduate, anthropology and geology, Todd Napier and Jean Preusker.

            Anderson Township, Ohio: Zachary Bailey, senior, biochemistry, Thomas and Tina Bailey of Cincinnati.

            Boise, Idaho: Madeleine Sheils, senior, philosophy, Max and Joni Sheils.

            Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Jessica Loke, Aug. 11 graduate, religious studies and psychology, Lawrence Loke of Singapore and Jasmine Loke of Shah Alam, Malaysia.

            Naperville, Ill.: Elizabeth Jaensch, senior, biochemistry, Michael and Rebekah Jaensch.

            Sioux City, Iowa: Joseph TenHulzen, senior, history, Gaylen and Cathy TenHulzen.
