Degrees granted to 1,500 at University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Lincoln, Neb., December 14th, 2012 —

            The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will grant degrees to some  1,500 students at commencement exercises Dec. 14 and 15 in separate ceremonies for baccalaureate, postgraduate and law degrees.

            The graduates are from 34 states and 28 countries.

            Chris. R. Calkins, professor of animal science at UNL, will give the address at the graduate degree ceremony on Dec. 14; Jeff Zeleny, the national political correspondent for the New York Times, will give the address at the baccalaureate ceremony on Dec. 15; and Judge Michael W. Pirtle of the Nebraska Court of Appeals will give the address at the law ceremony on Dec. 14.

            The list includes 47 students who received degrees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Public Affairs and Community Service, but studied on the UNL campus.
