Lincoln, Neb., December 5th, 2013 —

Students at University of Nebraska-Lincoln and other students in the Lincoln area are invited to a "study break" at the Sheldon Museum of Art, 12th and R streets, from 5-7:30 p.m. Dec. 10. The free event is hosted by the Sheldon Student Advisory Board.

The event will include yoga and meditation sessions to help students reduce anxiety and increase focus as finals approach. Students will also be encouraged to let the famous works of Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keeffe, Andy Warhol and other artists accompany and inspire them during art-making activities and final studies.

Yoga sessions will begin at 5:15 and 6:15 and will last approximately 45 minutes. Meditation sessions will begin at 6:15 and 7:15 and will last approximately 15 minutes. Free food will also be provided.

After taking time to unwind and refuel, students are welcome to study in the Sheldon's permanent collection or the boardroom. Wi-Fi will be available in both rooms.

This is the second study break night hosted by the Sheldon Student Advisory Board, a newly formed student organization working to connect the UNL community with the Sheldon Museum of Art.

Sheldon Museum of Art houses a permanent collection of more than 12,000 objects focusing on transnational American art. Sheldon is open free to the public during regular hours: Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. The museum is closed on Monday.
