UNL launches video contest for Nebraska high school students

Lincoln, Neb., December 16th, 2013 —

            Nebraska high school students can compete to have their original video shown on the big screen at the annual Big Red Road Show.

            On Feb. 1, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will help area high school students learn more about college life at UNL at the 2014 Big Red Road Show: Husker Cinema Edition. This year, the event will be at Marcus Midtown Cinema, 3201 Farnam St. in Omaha.

            UNL is also conducting a video contest and invitdx all Nebraska high school students to create a short video that depicts their best future as a student at UNL.

            Four finalists in the contest will get the red-carpet treatment as their videos are featured on the big screen at Midtown Cinema during the Big Red Road Show.

            The winner also will receive a $250 pizza party from Valentino's. The runner-up will win a $100 gift certificate from The Amazing Pizza Machine.

            To enter, students can upload videos to YouTube and submit the link along with contest entry information to http://roadshowvideo.unl.edu.

            A panel of professional video producers will determine the four finalists, who will be announced by Jan. 12. Entries from the four finalists will be posted for public online voting to select a winner and a runner-up.

            The finalists' entries will be shown on Feb. 1, when the winner and runner-up will be announced.
