40 UNL students inducted into Phi Beta Kappa

Lincoln, Neb., May 27th, 2014 —

            Forty University of Nebraska-Lincoln students were initiated into membership in Phi Beta Kappa this spring.

            Phi Beta Kappa is the nation's oldest academic honor society, recognizing and encouraging a commitment to excellence in the liberal arts and sciences. Following is a list of the students who were inducted, including their academic major(s) and their parents' and spouses' names. All were in the May 10 graduating class.

NEBRASKA

            Beatrice: Caitlin Eis, psychology, daughter of Thomas and Rhonda Eis.

            Eustis: Bryant Keller, biochemistry, son of John and Kathryn Keller.

            Lexington: Phoebe Gydesen, history and political science, daughter of Kent and Barb Gydesen; Maisie O'Meara, psychology, daughter of Robert and Kristi O'Meara.

            Omaha: Tyler Chonis, biochemistry and biological sciences, son of Doug and Nancy Chonis; Daniel Geschwender, computer science and mathematics, son of James and Kay Geschwender; Noah Glover-Ettrich, English and Russian, son of Kurt and Suzanna Glover-Ettrich, husband of Demera Glover; Kristen Guiliano, biochemistry, daughter of John and Sharon Guiliano; Amanda Karimi, global studies, Latin American studies and Spanish, daughter of Majid and Barbara Karimi; Haley Mendlik, Spanish, daughter of Steven and Christine Mendlik; Haley Pullin, psychology, daughter of Tadd Pullin of Omaha and Julie Pullin of Melbourne, Fla.; Jane Seu, political science, daughter of Jung and Chun Seu; Qianli Wang, biological sciences, son of Xingqi Wang and Jinjui Zhao.

            Raymond: Kelsey McIntyre, English, daughter of Scott and Kim McIntyre.

            Schuyler: Bonnie Martin, English, daughter of Jill Ruskamp and the late Dr. James Martin, stepdaughter of Randy Ruskamp.

            Scottsbluff: Jackson Pahlke, political science, son of Robert Pahlke and Penny Pahlke.

            Seward: Andrew Sorsen, economics and global studies, son of Steve and Joni Sorsen.

            South Sioux City: John-Emmett Mahon, biological sciences, son of Vincent and Darlakae Mahon.
