Lincoln, Neb., May 27th, 2014 —

Mueller Planetarium at the University of Nebraska State Museum has announced its schedule of fulldome shows for June.

Beginning June 3 the schedule will feature a new program, "Dream to Fly," a poetic and touching story of aviation development through the ages. It presents the significant milestones on our route to conquering the skies -- both in terms of technological breakthroughs, as well as our perceptions of flying itself. Two returning favorites will also be featured in June, "Firefall" and "Into the Deep."

"Firefall" is an introduction to asteroids, comets and meteors, and the way they have affected both Earth and the solar system. The show also includes a live segment about the current night sky.

"Into the Deep" explores the history of deep sea exploration. From bathyscaphes (deep-sea submersibles) to submarines, humans have found ways to learn more about the depths of the oceans, along meeting some of the strange creatures who live far below the surface.  Running time is 35 minutes.

            The Mueller Planetarium in June:

  • Tuesdays through Sundays, 2 p.m. -- "Firefall" (running time 45 minutes)
  • Tuesdays through Sundays, 3 p.m. -- "Dream to Fly" (35 minutes)
  • Thursdays, 7 p.m. -- "Into the Deep" (35 minutes)

The schedule is subject to change and a new schedule will begin July 1. For more information, go to http://www.spacelaser.com or phone 402-472-2641.
