The photographic exhibit "Danish Children Growing up American," is on display in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Love Library through July 31.

This exhibit, in Room 218 of Love Library South, 13th and R streets, features 50 large photos that depict different aspects of a child's life in the 19th and 20th centuries. According to the exhibit brochure, Danish immigrants placed a lot of emphasis on their children, who they saw as the true beneficiaries of the American dream and a better life.

"Danish Children Growing up American" is on loan to UNL's University Libraries from the Danish American Archive and Library in Blair, which developed this exhibit in partnership with the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

            This exhibit is open free of charge during Love Library's open hours, 7:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Fridays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays, noon-11 p.m. Sundays. UNL libraries will be closed July 4.
