"Celebration of Youth XXI: Elegant Solutions"

The creative work of 27 Nebraska youth, ages 10 to 19, are on display in the 21st annual "Celebration of Youth: Elegant Solutions" in the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The exhibition is free and open to the public and runs through Nov. 8 and features works selected from 4-H exhibits in the areas of Home Environment, Clothing, and Quilt Quest at the 2014 Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island. Additional items by 11 alternates are displayed in the showcases outside of the gallery, which is on the second floor of the Home Economics Building, 35th Street north of East Campus Loop.

On Nov. 8, the UNL Department of Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design will host an afternoon of workshops for the youth and their parents, concluding with a short talk by each gallery exhibitor. The presentations at 5 p.m. in Room 11 on the lower of the Home Economics Building are free and open to the public, as is a reception immediately following on the second floor outside the gallery. The exhibitors will also be recognized with a special tribute from the Friends of the Hillestad Gallery. The program will be followed by a final opportunity to view the exhibition in the gallery during a reception hosted by the Friends.
