Sheldon Museum of Art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Asian Community and Cultural Center invite the public to a celebration of the Asian lunar new year from 2 to 5 p.m. Feb. 21 at the museum, 12th and R streets.

    The festival includes craft-making activities, traditional dance, games and music. Featured performers for the event include the Trans-Oceanic Costume Team, Chinese Silk Road Dancers, India Children's Dance Group, KSN: Karen Traditional Dance Group and Linh Quang Temple Lion Dance Troupe.

    The museum and festival are free and open to all. 

    Sheldon Museum of Art houses a permanent collection of more than 12,000 objects focusing on American art. Sheldon is open free to the public during regular hours: Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. The museum is closed Mondays.
