Lincoln, Neb., March 11th, 2015 —

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will host its 14th annual Big Red Road Show from noon to 3 p.m. March 21 at the Mitchell Events Center, 130625 County Road E in Mitchell, Neb. This free event provides high school students with a sense of what college life is like.

“The Big Red Road Show is always a popular and beneficial event for high school students and their families,” said Amber Williams, director of admissions. “The thought of college can be intimidating for some. We like to provide a fun way to learn more about life at the university.

“Pride in Nebraska and the university runs deep and we look forward to bringing a strong sense of all UNL has to offer to students and families who don’t make it to Lincoln regularly. UNL belongs to everyone in the state and we’re thrilled to share it where they call home.”

Coordinating with the theme “UNL Comes to You,” this event lets attendees explore more than 50 booths showcasing Nebraska's opportunities through academic excellence and student life by interacting with faculty, staff and current students.

Representatives from all UNL undergraduate colleges, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, First-Year Experience and Transition Programs, Scholarships and Financial Aid, and Career Services will be on hand.

Highlights of the event include:

> A talent showcase featuring special performances from schools across western Nebraska.

> Autographs from former Husker and NFL star Ahman Green.

> Prize drawings.

> Free popcorn and soda.
