Seven ROTC cadets to receive military commissions Dec. 18-19

Lincoln, Neb., December 15th, 2015 —

Seven cadets in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Reserve Officer Training Corps will receive military commissions in ceremonies Dec. 18 and 19 at the Nebraska Union, 14th and R streets.

Two cadets in Air Force ROTC will be commissioned second lieutenants in the U.S. Air Force at 5 p.m. Dec. 18 in the Auditorium; four cadets in Army ROTC will be commissioned second lieutenants in the U.S. Army at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 19 in the Regency Suite; and one cadet in Navy ROTC will be commissioned an ensign in the U.S. Navy at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 19 in the Auditorium.

The following is a list by hometown of cadets to be commissioned, with their rank and service branch.

NEBRASKA:

Bellevue: 2nd Lt. Patrick J. Thibodeaux, Air Force.

Lincoln: 2nd Lt. Samuel L. McCarter, Army; 2nd Lt. Britny J. McNeese, Army.

Norfolk: Ensign Cole R. Vonderohe, Navy.

Seward: 2nd Lt. Bryce E. Van Velson, Air Force.

ELSEWHERE:

Paso Robles, Calif.: 2nd Lt. Kory K. Dearie, Army.

Spirit Lake, Iowa: 2nd Lt. Rachel M. Hofstra, Army.
