Academy of Rock to Perform at Sheldon
The Sheldon Museum of Art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will partner with the Lincoln Northeast Family Center's Academy of Rock to present a student rock concert as part of Sheldon's Tuesday evening programming.
The concert is 5-8 p.m. Aug. 4 and will be in Sheldon's Ethel S. Abbott Auditorium. The concert will feature local bands from the Academy of Rock and is free and open to the public. more...

State Museum Hosts 'Celebrating Darwin's Legacy'
An exhibition of photographs, drawings, paintings and Darwinian materials guest curated by Paul A. Johnsgard will continue to be hosted by the Nebraska State Museum through Sept. 1. "Celebrating Darwin's Legacy: Evolution in the Galapagos Islands and the Great Plains" tells an evolutionary story that residents of the Great Plains can relate to within their own environment.
Museum admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children (4 & under free), $10 for families with additional cost for planetarium shows. Parking free. Museum hours: 9:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday.-Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. Thursdays; 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sundays.
