Talk on 'Women Veterans Returning Home' at UNL

Genevieve Chase
With continued deployment of U.S. troops abroad, more than 200,000 women serving in the armed forces continue to play a vital role in all military operations. However, the service and achievements of women in the military have often gone unrecognized or unreported, and servicewomen do experience specific challenges both while serving and in the transition to civilian life.
Genevieve Chase, executive director of American Women Veterans and a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, will speak at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln 5 p.m. April 13 about service in the military, policies that affect women veterans, women in the Veterans Health Administration system, and other issues of importance to women veterans and their families. more...
