'Graduate Tangents: Converging Concepts in Textiles' at Hillestad Gallery
"Graduate Tangents: Diverging Concepts in Textiles" at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery is an exhibition that features a diversely personal body of work created by seven graduate students in UNL's Department of Textiles, Clothing and Design. The exhibit highlights a wide range of perspectives that demonstrate the effectiveness of expression through textile and apparel design.
The Hillestad Gallery hosts the show June 21-July 2. The exhibition is coordinated and installed by the artists themselves. Designers include Tacia Booton, Melissa Caldwell, Karen DeCristoforo, Thais Regina De Oliveira, Sandra Starkey, Katie Taylor Frisch and Erica White. Academic Planning Committee Budget Hearing is June 25
The APC hearing on proposed budget reductions will be held on June 25 in the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center on City Campus. The task of the APC is to review the Chancellor's proposed cuts in light of their probable impact on the university's academic mission and approve them or suggest other ways of meeting the budget reduction goal. To accomplish this task, the APC welcomes information from all who may be affected by the proposed reductions.

Jazz in June Continues With Jeff Newell's New-Trad Octet
The Jazz in June concert series on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus continues on Tuesday, June 15 with Jeff Newell's New-Trad Octet. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. under the trees on the plaza west of Sheldon Museum of Art.
Combining the instrumentation of a New Orleans marching band and an electric R&B group, Newell's New-Trad Octet has brought its infectious rhythm and joyful humor to enthralled audiences from the Atlantic to the Rockies. Mid-August Lunch; The Secret In Their Eyes Play at the Ross
UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Mid-August Lunch and The Secret In Their Eyes. Mid-August Lunch will screen through June 24, while The Secret In Their Eyes will show through July 1.
